Video Interview: Alex Ferguson Fully Expects A Victory Against Hull 22/5/09

It is that time of the year again. Which club will fall through the relegation trapdoor this Sunday? Hull's chances are probably better since Man Utd will be fielding a weakened side. A fact that Ferguson vehemently denies.

Ferguson's excuse for fielding a reserve side is that if he had played all his first team players on sunday, they would have been less than totally committed for fear of being injured before their Champions League final against Barcelona. Thus he is maintaining the integrity of EPL.

Ferguson said,“The rest of the league may think that would be good because United are playing their strongest team but it could be the worst thing that could happen to us. It’s possible, with a European Cup final on Wednesday, those players could be tip-toeing around.

“But there is no need for anyone to worry about our intentions on Sunday. We have a League that has the best integrity in the world and we will play our part at Hull.

"There will be experienced international players relishing the chance to come back alongside some with fantastic potential."

“The only thing they have to prove is that the minute they put that jersey on, they have to win. It doesn’t matter what XI I pick, that is what they have to prove.”

It should be Tomasz Kuszczak, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown, Richard Eckersley, Darren Fletcher, Darron Gibson, Rodrigo Possebon, Danny Welbeck, Federico Macheda, Lee Martin or Zoran Tosic lined up against Hull on Sunday.

And on that note, whip out your hankies, and say goodbye to the teams who had lasted this long before relegating.
