The bomb blasts in Jarkarta had forced Manchester United to cancel their friendly match with Indonesia. They decided to face up to the Malaysian team again to make up for their cancelled game.
Man Utd had previously beaten Malaysia XI 3-2.


Michael Owen scored his second goal in two matches to help give Manchester United a 2-0 win over the Malaysian XI on its Far East tour.

Federico Macheda scored the first goal from close range after receiving a pass from winger, Darren Fletcher. Just two minutes later, Owen capitalized on a hesitant Malaysian defense to slot in an easy goal from equally close range.
