Video: Antonio Valencia Signs For Man Utd

Manchester United first signing is Wigan Athletic's winger Antonio Valencia. He has penned a four-year deal for a fee reported to be close to £16 million.

The 23-year-old Ecuador international has been tracked by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for a while.

Ferguson was evidently delighted with the transfer. He said, "Antonio is a player we have admired for some time now, having spent the last two years in the Premier League with Wigan.

"I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team."

Antonio Valencia had mirrored the joy felt by Ferguson. "Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me. I have enjoyed my time at Wigan, but I am thrilled to have the chance to challenge for the biggest honours in club football here.

Playing in front of 76,000 fans alongside players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs will be an amazing experience. I can’t wait to get started," he said.

Video Report: Wigan V Manchester United 1-2, Winning The Title Soon

Wigan's Columbian striker Rodallega was gifted a goal when Vidic had slipped twice on the wet surface.

Tevez replied for the Red Devils with an amazing goal! Ronaldo glided through the middle, laying the ball off to Carrick, who drilled the ball low into the box. Tevez guided the ball into the net with an impossible back-heel.. It was an out of the world move and i really doubt that Tevez intended to do it.

Carrick, running on to John O’Shea’s pass to shoot left-footed home from the edge of the area meant that the Devils leave JJB stadium with all 3 points. Man Utd are 1 point away from the Premiership title.
