Video Report: Manchester V Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd Wins Title!

The banner reads '18 times and thats a fact'. A 0-0 draw and another title for Manchester United! It looked at some point that Arsenal were going to spoil the party. But in the end it was a very professional display by United. They have done what was required to get them the point they needed.

Manchester United did not care about the results or how poor they had played. Old Trafford was wild in celebration when the final whistle blew- players and fans alike. The Red Devils has equaled ailing giant Liverpool's record of 18 top-flight title wins!

They have conquered EPL. Now is the time to conquer Europe.

Video Report: Wigan V Manchester United 1-2, Winning The Title Soon

Wigan's Columbian striker Rodallega was gifted a goal when Vidic had slipped twice on the wet surface.

Tevez replied for the Red Devils with an amazing goal! Ronaldo glided through the middle, laying the ball off to Carrick, who drilled the ball low into the box. Tevez guided the ball into the net with an impossible back-heel.. It was an out of the world move and i really doubt that Tevez intended to do it.

Carrick, running on to John O’Shea’s pass to shoot left-footed home from the edge of the area meant that the Devils leave JJB stadium with all 3 points. Man Utd are 1 point away from the Premiership title.

Video Report: Manchester United V Manchester City 2-0, Title Race Nearly Over

Hughes was wary of the Portuguese marksman’s set-piece shooting that he spent last week trying to devise training exercises that would enable his goalkeepers to prepare for it. However his efforts were futile. Ronaldo's scored his 26th goal of the season from a stationary free kick.

Tevez scored the second goal on the 45th minute to put the result beyond doubt and earned Man Utd all three points.

Video Report: Liverpool Vs West Ham 3-0, Still In Title Challenge

Liverpool briefly took over the lead of the Premier League last night with a strong performance against West Ham. Inconsequential to the title race outcome if Manchester United wins at Manchester City tonight and at Old Trafford against Arsenal next week.

With Gerrard and Torres there is a massive difference,’ acknowledged Benitez. ‘The other team are worrying which of them will score and our team have more confidence. We have been playing better and better, with more control in every game, so it’s a
good experience for the future and we hope next year it can be better.’

Steven Gerrard scored a brace. A third goal by Ryan Babbel made the score 3-0.

Why Liverpool Can Still Win The League

The football odds on Liverpool snatching the Premier League title from under the noses of Man United may lengthen by the week, but it is still possible.

For starters, Rafa Benitez’s men have only had the Premier League to focus on since their Champions League defeat to Chelsea in March. Whereas United have been battling on three fronts until the FA Cup defeat to Everton a few weeks ago reduced it to two.

Free from the distractions of knock-out competitions Liverpool are flying, scoring goals left, right and centre. Benitez has his side in bullish mood ahead of the final run-in and you can sense the determination in the squad to win all their remaining games and apply as much pressure on United as possible – and I thoroughly expect them to do so.

It is, of course, a pressure United and Alex Ferguson are used to and have dealt with successfully over the past 20 years. But the quest to win an unprecedented quintuple will have taken on its toll on even United’s large squad so it is not unrealistic to think that something has to give in their remaining fixtures. Plus when the United players see their title rivals despatching their opponents so comfortably it puts added psychological pressure on them to perform in their next game.
Looking at who United have to play there are two games in particular that could cause them problems. First up is a local tussle against Manchester City. Tough at the best of times this latest instalment of the Manchester derby will be even harder for United given City’s recent good run of form - they also did the double over United last season don’t forget. A point a piece is not an unrealistic outcome. Following that is the much awaited game-in-hand away at Wigan, who despite a successful season under Steve Bruce shouldn’t have enough to deprive Fergie’s men of the points.

However it’s the penultimate weekend of the season which is the one that could be a watershed moment in the title race. Firstly on the Saturday Man United take on a wounded Arsenal side still reeling from that emphatic Champions League defeat. Arsene Wenger’s men will be desperate to extract some revenge and putting the brakes on United’s title bid could be the perfect way to do it. Any United slip-up will surely be pounced upon by Liverpool who travel to bottom club West Brom the next day and will be overwhelming favourites to collect the points.

That would take things to the last day, where Liverpool are at home to Spurs and United travel to relegation haunted Hull, who may need something to stay up. It evokes memories of West Ham in 1995 when the Hammers earned a 1-1 draw with United which allowed Blackburn to take the title, at Anfield funnily enough. If Hull can do the same then a win for Liverpool over Spurs could be enough.

I know it seems unlikely and is dependent on Liverpool winning their remaining fixtures, but stranger things have happened in football.

I think this one could go to the wire.

Video Report: Man Utd Trounced Tottenham 5-2

It had looked promising for Tottenham, taking a 2-0 lead at half time. Who would have thought that Manchester United is able to put in such a strong showing in the second half to win 5-2 at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rooney scored a brace each to give United a comfortable victory. Dimitar Berbatov added a fifth against his former club to put the seal on a remarkable turnaround and put the champions three points clear of Liverpool with one game in-hand.

It had been especially significant for Berbatov who was under fire for his poor display against Everton in the FA Cup semi - finals. Tevez had a relatively quiet game today. Both players are running low on confidence and form.

Goals:
Tottenham:
Bent, 29’
Modric, 32’

Manchester
United
Ronaldo, 57’ (pen)
Rooney, 67’
Ronaldo, 68’
Rooney, 71’
Berbatov, 79’

Oh Stop It! Wait Till You Lead The Table Liverpool!

Albert Riera believes that Manchester United fortunes are waning and Liverpool is ready to capitalise on their dwindling club fortunes.

“With United losing like that, and now after us winning against Villa so well, I think that they can feel us near to them,” Riera says.

“There are a lot of matches to be played in the Premier League and

the Champions League and there will be a lot of pressure and I think they can feel this.

“We surprised them a little with our win at Old Trafford last week, and against Villa I think we showed them that we are still fighting and that we will be until the very end.”

“What was impressive – and perhaps the most important thing – was that the game against Villa was one we had to win – and we did it in style,” he added.

“It was a great performance from everybody in the team. We controlled the game and we managed to score five goals which is fantastic.

“I'm pleased I scored. I don’t score too many goals and I hope to score more in the future. But I enjoyed this goal because it helped us to get three points, which sent out a message.”

Liverpool won a few matches but the title race is far from over. Man Utd is too strong for Liverpool in my opinion.

It had become almost a ritual for Liverpool players to post useless banters to the press when their form pick up a bit. I have heard this many times since the inception of the premier league. Liverpool never win the title before during this time.

I think it is about time Liverpool players do less talking and play some quality football to challenge Man Utd. Walk the talk and you will never walk alone.

Bring On Villa, I Want The Title Says Benitez

Benitez can't wait for the Villa match to kick off. And he is voicing his confidence in the team's chances against Villa.

He also believes that Liverpool are strong contenders for the title now given Man Utd earlier falter at Craven Cottage.

“Everyone wants to talk about us and Chelsea [in the Champions League], but we know, if we want to stay close to United, we need to concentrate on Aston Villa,” the Spaniard told The Guardian.

“If we want to remain in the title race, we have to beat Villa.”

“A few Premier League teams play long ball, so we're used to it,” he said.

“We have to maybe change two or three movements of certain players, that's all.”

Guus Hiddink Stakes Claim In Title Race.

Guus Hiddink is joining in the fun. The rhetoricals of football managers in EPL had always been controversial (funny at times) and Hiddink is picking up the British culture very fast. Just 2 months in the Chelsea managerial's seat, he is talking as if he had tons of EPL managerial experiences under his belt.

He said: "It's clear that the tension has come back into the league and that's a boost for us.

"When you are in the driver's seat and someone else is coming up in your mirrors, you can get a little bit nervous. Rafa and Sir Alex are very experienced, but I will try to chase them."

Hiddink is a manager with a brilliant management resume. I hope he achieves success and stay longer than 1 season in the hot seat. We do feel that Chelsea's best years are behind them and there needs to be an overhaul of the players to be genuine title contenders again.
