Video: Portsmouth Star Glen Johnson Set To Be Sold
4 clubs have made bids for Portsmouth's England right-back, Glen Johnson.
Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie has confirmed the rumor. Johnson will be have to choose from Chelsea, Liverpool Manchester City or Aston Villa. The 24 year old is valued between £15m and £18m.
Storrie told Sky Sports, "I've know Glen a long while, from my West Ham days. When I re-signed him (at Portsmouth) we talked things over.
"He said, 'If one of the big four come in with Champions League football, would you stand in my way?'
"I told him I couldn't do that. Providing the deal is right for Portsmouth and Glen then we will look to try and do something in the right way.
"It is very hard to try and hold people back when they have a chance to play in the Champions League. I accept that."
Will Glen Johnson pick money or ambition? Be rich or obscenely rich?

Video: Carlo Ancelotti First Chelsea Interview In Super Bad English
Carlo Ancelotti first interview for Chelsea. His english is very bad and needed prompting to complete his sentences..
Carlo is an intelligent coach and have a great record with AC Milan. He is a Champions league expert and had highlighted in the interview that winning Champions League for Chelsea will be one of his priorities. But with his command of the english language so poor, can he replicate his success in Stamford Bridge?
Ancelotti has recommended Chelsea to sign Andrea Pirlo, the Italy international midfielder. Chelsea are already in discussions with CSKA Moscow over the purchase of Yuri Zhirkov. Sergio Agüero is also a potential signing but he will face competition from Manchester City for his signature.

UEFA Suspending Didler Drogba And Michael Ballack

According to former Premier League referee Graham Poll, Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack are both likely to receive hefty bans by Uefa after last week's shocking scene at a Champions League clash between Chelsea and Barcelona.
Drogba and Ballack had openly voiced their disapproval of some of referee Tom Henning Ovrebo's match decisions when he had officiated the Chelsea Vs Barcelona match at Stamford Bridge.
"I think there will probably be fairly hefty match bans, maybe eight to 10 for Drogba and five or six for Ballack," Poll told Setanta Sports' Football Matters.
"They will probably get halved on appeal – that's kind of the way Uefa do things... they always know there's an appeal coming so they go heavy and then reduce it down."
A week after the game that turned into a circus, Tom has finally spoken to the press. Earlier, Uefa had prevented Ovrebo from speaking publicly about the game.
"Because of the circumstances after the match, Uefa has asked us not to comment to the press," said Ovrebo, who was given the appointment a standard two days before the match, according to the governing body.
"I won't comment on what has happened since Wednesday," said Ovrebo.
"My focus is now on my coming matches in Norway and the future. But since this happened I have been noticed more in the street and people are pointing."
"Why do I like football? Why shouldn't I? It's always been part of my life since I was seven — I was playing football since that age so it's hard to stop liking it because of one incident."
Ovrebo, a trained pyschologist, was sure that his training in the field of pyschology makes him a great referee. "Of course there's a lot of psychology in refereeing and of course its about man-management, things like this. And it's also important to know of stress-management," the said.
When asked if he would continue to be a referee. "That's hard to tell, but at the moment I'm still very motivated," Tom said.
Is Tom a man out of his depth or is he a mere pawn in a far more sinister plot?

Video Report: Arsenal 1 Chelsea 4. Great Game
Mathematically impossible for title contention, both sides were essentially playing for pride. It was drama on drama, with both teams eager to bounce back from mid week CL disappointment.
A 1-4 thumping by Chelsea was a particularly cruel result for Arsenal who have enjoyed a 21 game unbeaten run in the league.
For the second time in a week, Arsenal were humiliated in Emirates stadium. Again, Wenger and his men took another harsh lesson in football, this one reminding them dominance counts for nothing if you can't put the ball in the net.

Video Report Chelsea Vs Barcelona 1-1, Chelsea Robbed!
It feels like 'conspiracy'. With 4 penalty appeals dismissed by Norwegian official Tom Henning Ovrebo, Chelsea were robbed of a win which they had fully deserved.
Accord to Hiddink "Of course, players make many mistakes, coaches make many mistakes and referees can make mistakes. Okay, so it happens. It's all in the game. But when you see two, three or four situations waved away, then, yes, it is the worst I have seen."
Andres Iniesta's stoppage-time equaliser was a cruel ending after what has been a strong performance from Hiddink's men, who scarcely-deserved to draw 1-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
It will be Barcelona and Manchester United in the Champions League Finals.

Video Report Arsenal vs Chelsea 1-2 FA Cup Semi
DIDIER Drogba scored on the 84th minute yesterday to give Chelsea a 2-1 win over Arsenal and a place in next month's FA Cup final.
Arsenal's defense had been vulnerable all night. Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski had a poor game and it did not help when his team mates were shoddy in their defensive work.
The second goal that Arsenal conceded was not totally Lukasz Fabianski's fault. It was the right decision to rush out from his area to challenge Drogba.
He was just unlucky that Drogba was slightly faster than him to reach the ball and was very composed in front of goal.
Wenger said "He's a great goalkeeper but it was not his greatest day. Inexperience, yes. It was a game when any mistake could be costly."
Chelsea will face either Manchester United or Everton in the FA Cup Finals.

Chelsea, Liverpool Champions League Q4 Result
The match between Liverpool and Chelsea ended 4-4. Which means Chelsea has eliminated Liverpool and is progressing to the Champions League Semi finals with a superior 7-5 aggregate score.
Both sides were poor in defense, resulting in many goals conceded. With the kind of errors seen, you feel that neither sides should progress to the next stage of the competition...
I hope for this much entertainment but more quality from Chelsea in the semi finals.
Scoring Summary
Chelsea Liverpool
Alex (57) Fabio Aurelio (19)
Didier Drogba (51) Xabi Alonso (pen 28)
Frank Lampard (76) Lucas (81)
Frank Lampard (89) Dirk Kuyt (82)
Zonal Marking For Liverpool In Return Leg?

LIVERPOOL manager Rafael Benitez is sticking to zonal marking system for their Champions League Quarter Finals return leg against Chelsea.
In the first leg against Liverpool, Branislav Ivanovic of Chelsea scored 2 thumping headers. Fans fueled by anger questioned the wisdom of using zonal marking in Liverpool's defensive play at set-pieces.
Benitez said: "We feel we can handle Chelsea in the air. There was a lot of talk last week about our zonal marking system but all the top clubs have conceded about the same from set-pieces this season, it is not just the system that matters.
We are happy with the way we defend, it is all about the quality of players in the end.
"Zonal marking has been good for us in the past, and it will be good for the future."
Why is Rafael Benitez insistent on using zonal marking system? Is he sticking to it because he is too proud to admit his tactical mistake, Or is it the better choice?
Zonal marking is a defensive strategy used in soccer where defenders cover an area of the pitch rather than marking a specific player. The defender only marks an opponent if they move into their zone. It means unless the defender is telepathic, he will always be one touch behind the opponent.
I personally feel man to man marking will be a better choice for this match. Chelsea have shown that they perfectly capable of countering Liverpool's zonal marking system.

Branislav Ivanovic & Petr Cech Interview
This is the post match interview after the Champions League quarter finals match at Anfield. Branislav Ivanovic seemed very camera shy and uneasy before the camera.
He-Ivanovic, is a very low profile player.. If you put 'Ivanovic' in google, it is Ana Ivanovic that appears at the top..
It basically means this guy is boring with no gossips and scandals...
Liverpool 1 Chelsea 3 in Quarter Finals CL
Chelsea clawed back from an early Fernando Torres goal in the Champion's League quarter-final first leg at Anfield to claim a 3-1 victory. Two goals from Branislav Ivanovic and one from Didier Drogba settled the match.
Ivanovic- the Serbian defender from Chelsea - 2 goals had been the result of Hiddink exploiting the weakness of Liverpool's zonal marking system at set-pieces. The system meant that the Liverpool defenders were marking spaces and not conducting man to man marking. That gave Ivanovic a free run at every corner and he took full advantage with two similar headers past Jose Reina.
Hiddink says "If you feel that the opponent can be hurt in some parts of their team it would be stupid not to go for that. They have zonal defence at corners and there is no marking. We talked about that.
"We have players who are tall and are very brave going into the area. It was true we got a lot of benefit in the air from set pieces.
"You have to analyse where the weapons are with Liverpool and it is not so difficult to see it is Gerrard and Torres. You have to disarm them and Essien was the man who was key for this."
"To be honest to play Liverpool at Anfield is always a hard job, so at the end we were very happy with this result. It is unexpected to be honest but I think well deserved," he said.
"The next game we have to be very concentrated. Don't think we will take this very lightly because Liverpool have proved in the past they can surprise."
It was a tactical mistake by Benitez which should have been rectified at half time. To concede 2 similar goals to the same person in a similar situation is criminal..

Guus Hiddink Stakes Claim In Title Race.

Guus Hiddink is joining in the fun. The rhetoricals of football managers in EPL had always been controversial (funny at times) and Hiddink is picking up the British culture very fast. Just 2 months in the Chelsea managerial's seat, he is talking as if he had tons of EPL managerial experiences under his belt.
He said: "It's clear that the tension has come back into the league and that's a boost for us.
"When you are in the driver's seat and someone else is coming up in your mirrors, you can get a little bit nervous. Rafa and Sir Alex are very experienced, but I will try to chase them."
Hiddink is a manager with a brilliant management resume. I hope he achieves success and stay longer than 1 season in the hot seat. We do feel that Chelsea's best years are behind them and there needs to be an overhaul of the players to be genuine title contenders again.

A Humiliating 1-4 Loss For Mighty RED DEVILS!
Yes. Liverpool won. And the mighty Reds have always thrilled us when we least expect them to do so. Humiliating loss to Middlesborough follow by emphatic results against Real Madrid and now Manchester United. It is difficult to fathom Liverpool's erratic form. They are probably better when competing against strong teams. This to me is not title winning quality. But Manchester United choked when they were expected to kill off the tie with ease. Also very unlike their usual style. A 4 points difference between the 2 sides. With Manchester United dropping points, it means Chelsea may have a shot at title contention too. 7 points seperates Chelsea and Manchester United. EPL is getting more interesting..
