Did Everton midfielder Tim Cahill down a woman's drink, grab a bouncer by the collar and refuse repeated requests to leave from a King's Cross nightclub?

Tim Cahill obviously did not agree with the newspaper reports.

His deliberately curt post match interview was probably his way of making a statement to the media.

Cahill said, "I just like to thank the crowd, the lads." Great turn out in Melbourne. I am so proud to be here, so proud to play tonight. I think the credit just goes out to the crowd. They are brilliant."

Is Cahill acting like a big time Charlie? Was there a stoush that night?

It was Chelsea’s day in the end though and the final scores reads 2-1. Chelsea's goal scorers were Drogba and Lampard.

Portugese star Joao Moutinho had expressed interest in joining Everton if he leaves Sporting Lisbon this summer.

He said: “I am able to play in a foreign league and The Premier League is the best thing that could come,” he told setanta.

“I know several clubs are interested, but the coach of Everton wanted me last year.”

Having Joao Moutinho to the side will add a distinctive element to the side.

He is an astute passer with a phenomenal work-rate and have a keen eye for goal. The thought of such an absolute midfielder joining Everton should inspire wild excitement among Everton fans!

What a way to end a tightly contested game of football!

Dan Gosling struck the injury-time winner on wednesday. Everton set to meet villa on Feb 15th for the 5th round tie.

David Moyes was excited by the win but reiterated that the cup has not been won yet!

He said: "We haven't won the cup just yet. It was a great result and everyone was really desperate for it. But let's not think the cup is already here, there is a very, very long way to go yet.

"We are in the fifth round, but the draw has not been kind to us. First we had to beat Liverpool and now we have Aston Villa next."

He said: "I'm proud of them, but there is more to come. I enjoyed that one, but we move on now.

"I was delighted with the two youngsters, Gosling and (Jack) Rodwell, to come on in such an important cup tie and play as well as that.

"But it says, too, a lot about the other players. We have had so many injuries and we picked up more during the match, it meant we were looking around to see what we could change.

"So it was the young boys who had to come on and I did not have any worries putting the two lads on. They had the energy we needed, and it was not a worry for me to put them on.
