Video: Lee Chung-Yong 이청용 Is Bolton's Transfer Target

Lee Chung-Yong 이청용, Korea's brightest soccer prospect, is contemplating a Bolton Wanderers move.

His football pedigree is clear for all to see. In January of 2009, Lee was named as one of the top 50 rising stars in football by the British daily, The Times. -Wiki

Currently plying his trades with FC Seoul, who currently top the Korean K-League, Lee Chung-Yong is compared to Alexander Hleb by many in Korea. Blessed with excellent technical ability, Lee is capable of delivering a pass virtually anywhere on the field and is quite capable of pressing the action himself.

“We got an offer from Bolton about Lee’s transfer. However, it is not a good moment to talk about it,” an FC Seoul spokesperson said.

Negotiations between the two clubs are believed to be at an advanced stage and the deal is likely to be sealed within 48 hours.

Robbie Fowler Had A Jibe At Owen's Man Utd Move

Do the lads from Merseyside think that Michael Owen is a 'traitor' for joining Liverpool's rival? Ex-Liverpool striker, Robbie Fowler, surely thinks so.

Fowler, the Anfield legend, had played alongside Owen for a number of seasons at Liverpool. He had fully empathized with Owen having been dogged by numerous injury issues throughout his career. But while happy to wish Owen all the best on a personal level, he did not feel that Man U is the most appropriate club to join.

'Obviously I want Michael to do well but I don't want Man United to do well,' said Fowler.

'It's a sticky situation and I don't want to get drawn into things with Michael and Man United. Everyone knows I'm a Liverpool fan.

'But if Michael scores a lot of goals then I hope Fernando Torres scores a lot more.'

'I don't want to go down that route as I leave myself open to criticism but Michael has done what he's done and it's not for me to judge what he should do or shouldn't do. He's a big lad.

It may well have all gone wrong for Fowler & Owen but history will recall them as the finest players ever to wear a Liverpool jersey.

Video: Michael Owen's First Training Session

All back to work!

This is Michael Owen's first training session with the Man Utd team after joining them on a free transfer. It also featured thuggish looking Wayne Rooney who was wearing a red woolen hat.

Owen looked sharp and competitive in the game and was probably hoping to catch the eye of both club manager Ferguson and international boss Capello.

Is this going to be the last time we see him without clutches?

Video:Miguel Veloso Signs For Villa, Fact Or Rumour?

Miguel Veloso is heading to Aston Villa? I reckon the rumour should have some substance since it has been circulating for a while now.

The fact that Veloso is renowned as being a fine reader of the game and only 23 should make him the perfect replacement for Barry in midfield.

The Sporting Lisbon star midfielder is the son of ex-Portugal star Antonio Veloso.

Aston Villa are ready to match Sporting's asking price, as they seek a replacement for Gareth Barry. Veloso is keen to sort out his future soon, saying, "I am prepared to move abroad - but I don't want things in doubt for the entire summer."- The Mirror

Most Villa fans will be hoping that Martin O'neill will sign him to bolster the midfield and pick up where Barry left off. Sporting Lisbon are demanding €13.8million for Veloso.

Birth Date:May 11, 1986

Video: Man Utd Player Michael Owen's First TV Interview

Michael Owen, former Kop legend, is now officially a MANCHESTER UNITED player.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a genius and this is definitely his shrewdest signing ever.

Michael Owen will earn a basic wage of £30,000 a week, with the rest of his salary dependent on appearances and goals.-The Independent

That money is hardly going making a dent in Manchester United's wage structure. Even if Owen plays only 30 minutes a season, the Reds did not waste too much money. If Michael stays injury free and rediscovers his best form, Ferguson has in his service a Ballon d'Or winner.

In any case, it must be a heart wrenching experience for any Liverpool fan to see their former hero pledge allegiance to their worst enemy.

Someone is having a laugh now...

Video: Antonio Valencia Signs For Man Utd

Manchester United first signing is Wigan Athletic's winger Antonio Valencia. He has penned a four-year deal for a fee reported to be close to £16 million.

The 23-year-old Ecuador international has been tracked by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for a while.

Ferguson was evidently delighted with the transfer. He said, "Antonio is a player we have admired for some time now, having spent the last two years in the Premier League with Wigan.

"I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team."

Antonio Valencia had mirrored the joy felt by Ferguson. "Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me. I have enjoyed my time at Wigan, but I am thrilled to have the chance to challenge for the biggest honours in club football here.

Playing in front of 76,000 fans alongside players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs will be an amazing experience. I can’t wait to get started," he said.

Video: Tim Borowski, From Munich To Aston Villa?

Despite starting only 6 in 26 games for Bayern Munich in 2008/09 German Bundesliga season, Tim Borowski managed to scored 5 goals and had 1 assist.-ESPN

The Bavarians’ fringe player is an adept attacking midfielder but had found playing time hard to come by. A loss of form after the winter break cost him his place in the starting eleven.

Borowski is a player in the mould of Villa legend, Ian Taylor. A tenacious tackler and the perfect embodiment of a box-to-box footballer. He has the uncanny ability of finding the right time to continue into the area and net a crucial goal.

A £5 million bid will be sufficient to prise him from Bayern.

Martin O'neill will surely try to sign him.

Aston Villa are rumoured to be chasing former England defender, Sol Campbell, who is out of contract at Portsmouth.

Martin O’Neill believes that Campbell is still capable of playing at the highest level for a few more years and Villa is hot favorite to land the powerful defender.

Sol Campbell is still one of England's most commanding centre-halves and possesses impeccable tackling skills. His addition will add depth to Villa's backline.

The question is, will O'neill match his £100000 per week salary demand?

Sol Campbell had played a total of 43 matches in 2008/09 season.

Fiorentina's defensive midfielder Felipe Melo had a fabulous 2008/09 Serie A season. Inter and Arsenal are both link with a 15 million pounds transfer for the Brazilian.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be in the hunt for a defensive midfielder and could see Melo as an ideal acquisition. The defensive midfield role has never been adequately filled after Gilberto left.

As often happens in these cases, transfer rumors surrounding Melo have been circulating.

Video:Thomas Vermaelen's First Arsenal Interview

We have all been interviewed for jobs. And, we have all spent most of those interviews thinking about what to say..

Come to think of it, it is not as hard as we thought. Just look pretty and say nice things about your bosses!

In the interview, Thomas Vermaelen said, "I am very proud to be here, in one of the greatest club in the world. Everyone wants to be here and i am very proud to be here."

At £10 million, Vermaelen, 23, is the most expensive central defenders Wenger has signed at Arsenal. He is a versatile player and can operate as a left back, but is much better where it counts most, in central defense. Wenger will need him to shore up a leaky defence.

Hope he does well next season!

Glenn Johnson-Overrated At 18 million?

By Guest Blogger: Tom Mallows

Every year there seems to be a player who becomes hot property for the elite clubs in the Premier League . A bidding war ensues and the final transfer fee is vastly over inflated and more than the selling club could ever have imagined. It is almost as if the big clubs have to spend money on someone, regardless of whether they need the player or not, otherwise the money will burn a huge great big whole in their deep pockets.

No I’m not talking about Ronaldo for once - I feel this is what is happening with Glen Johnson. A very good right back yes, but £18 million? For a full-back? Seems excessive to me.

Now I am not denying Johnson is a good player, he has probably had his best season in professional football and established himself in the England squad. But I feel his performances have been over-hyped by the media, and he just seems to be the 'in' player of the moment.

It is a situation similar to Micah Richards last season. The big City defender had also established himself as first choice England right back and had an impressive season with City. A year later he had lost his England spot, a casualty of the Steve McClaren era, and had an inconsistent year with his club.

I am not saying that the same will happen with Johnson, it may not and if it doesn't I will accept I am wrong on this occasion. But the Richards case just shows how things can change especially with young players. But such is the state of European football these days anyone who shows a bit of form is suddenly worth big money.

Then again after Ronaldo and Kaka, £18 million looks like small change.

Mart Poom To Coach Arsenal Women's Team. Part Of Wenger's Preparation For The Future

According to Setanta-

Estonian keeper Mart Poom has announced that he has also been offered the opportunity to work with the Arsenal women's team as a coach.

Jerie Paton, the Gunners’ current goalkeeping coach is recovering from surgery and Poom has been offered the chance to stand in for 4 months.

Poom says "In addition, I have been offered the chance to coach the women's team,” when interviewed by Uefa’s official website. “I'm still in good physical shape, but Wenger has decided to prepare for the future.”

I am completely baffled after reading this Setanta report.

He mentioned that he is part of Wenger's preparation for the future.Mart Poom a player/coach? Does Arsene Wenger plan to play Mart Poom at some point next season?

Video: Cruizero's Kléber Likely To Move To Liverpool FC?

Are the Reds forking out £6million for Kleber's services? The Brazilian striker is currently plying his trades for Cruizero and has averaged almost 1 goal per game this season.

Kleber had claimed that there were ongoing negotiations about his move to Anfield.

When SporTV channel asked him whether he was going to play for Liverpool, Kleber said: "I don't know yet. They are talking."

"Cruzeiro have been made an offer," he added. "I've always said I wanted to play in Brazil and make history here because I know it is possible.

"But I also know the team need to transfer players as they have commitments. We'll see."

"I want to stay, but if Cruzeiro can afford it," Kleber said.

He is quick, aggressive and has good dribbling skills. But the main thing is that he is excellent in front of goal.

He will probably need some time to adapt to EPL soccer, but when he does, the Reds will have a brilliant striker.

In my opinion,he is not going to be a back up striker at Anfield but Dirk Kuyt's direct replacement.

Video: Dieumerci Mbokani is Fulham Bound?

Dieumerci Mbokani from Standard Liege moving to Fulham for £5 million? He had done reasonably well with 31 games and 17 goals this season.

The DR Congo striker name Dieumerci means 'Thanks to God'.

He seemed like a fun guy to hang out with though.

In the video, Dieumerci Mbokani and Steven Defour were at a local fair to enjoy a fairground ride and for some reason it was taped. Mbokani had his head trapped underneath safety bars as they were being lowered.

I have included another video.. He scored a brilliant goal against Gent.
