It was Chelsea’s day in the end though and the final scores reads 2-1. Chelsea's goal scorers were Drogba and Lampard.

DIDIER Drogba scored on the 84th minute yesterday to give Chelsea a 2-1 win over Arsenal and a place in next month's FA Cup final.

Arsenal's defense had been vulnerable all night. Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski had a poor game and it did not help when his team mates were shoddy in their defensive work.

The second goal that Arsenal conceded was not totally Lukasz Fabianski's fault. It was the right decision to rush out from his area to challenge Drogba.

He was just unlucky that Drogba was slightly faster than him to reach the ball and was very composed in front of goal.

Wenger said "He's a great goalkeeper but it was not his greatest day. Inexperience, yes. It was a game when any mistake could be costly."

Chelsea will face either Manchester United or Everton in the FA Cup Finals.

Fabregas spits at Horton

The FA Cup quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium concluded in a myriad of controversy when Phil Brown, the Hull manager, said he witnessed Fabregas spitting at Hull's assistant manager Horton in the tunnel when the match ended. Horton has contacted the League Managers' Association (LMA) regarding the incident.

Phil said: "The pictures in the national papers verify the aggression he was showing towards players and staff after the game.

"I could go on, but I am not one for crying over spilt milk.

"I then witnessed him going down the tunnel and turning around and spitting at my assistant manager's feet.

"Whichever way you want to look at it, he addressed that spitting incident at my assistant manager, who has managed probably 1200 games in his career. Disgraceful act.

"I am not going to report it, I am not going tittle-tattling to the FA - if they want to investigate that is their decision, and if Brian Horton wants to take it further he will get the full support of Hull City."

Fabregas denied all allegations against him.

"I was on the pitch at the end of the game celebrating with my team-mates, but I promise I did not do anything wrong," he said. "It was not until half an hour after the game that I heard what Hull were saying about me and it is not something that is easy to accept.

"I understand Hull are angry and frustrated about going out of the FA Cup. But I don't know why they are saying these things about me because it did not happen. That is the truth.

"I don't even know who the assistant manager of Hull is or what he looks like. I am told Hull will be making an official complaint to the FA about me.

"Well, I am perfectly relaxed about that. I have nothing to hide."

Arshavin Is Very Very Tough

Arshavin wants to play in the FA Cup despite having his right foot almost torn apart in the game against Blackburn Rovers. It required 8 stiches but it is not going to stop Arshavin.

Wenger says," We will make a late decision. He is desperate to be involved. He just wants to play."

Andrey Arshavin has begged to play in Arsenal's FA Cup quarter final against Hull tonight - even though his foot has been "cut like a knife".

"Arshavin had eight stitches in his foot but he is still in the squad," Wenger said. "

It is amazing to see such enthusiasm these days. Almost like a young player eager to prove his worth to his manager. We rarely see such qualities in a top class footballer.

Arshavin said: "I can't even step on my foot now. It's like a knife cut - not very deep but quite painful. Blackburn is the toughest tackling team I've ever played against.

"Ooijer tore my boot and the skin too. At half-time, our doctor had to do a lot of work on my foot. So when I scored the second goal, I ran over to thank him for a job well done."


The Sam Allardyce's tough tactics had damaged the Russian's foot but not his spirit. Arshavin is very tough and has lifted the club spirits.

Eduardo is back!

Eduardo was handed the captain's armband by Wenger on Sunday's winning return against Burnley. A year on the sidelines following a broken leg and fractured ankle would have been career ending for most players. But Eduardo is back, with a point to prove and a desire to catch up on lost time.

Wenger feels the 26-year-old, who had marked his return to competitive action with a brace in the last round against Cardiff, has come back mentally stronger from his experience.

"It looked like a bit of a 'beach' goal - and he meant it, he sliced the ball," said Wenger.

"Eduardo is a surprising finisher and an intelligent player. He has short back lift and understands what to do very quickly.

"Goalscorers are moving in the box when everyone else is standing still, he has that.

"I have never seen him do that before, his goal was instinct and shows you that finishing is all about what you do in a fraction of a second."

Wenger added: "I did not expect him to come back like that, and it is a tribute to his personality. He has never complained and that is a big example in our world."

What a way to end a tightly contested game of football!

Dan Gosling struck the injury-time winner on wednesday. Everton set to meet villa on Feb 15th for the 5th round tie.

David Moyes was excited by the win but reiterated that the cup has not been won yet!

He said: "We haven't won the cup just yet. It was a great result and everyone was really desperate for it. But let's not think the cup is already here, there is a very, very long way to go yet.

"We are in the fifth round, but the draw has not been kind to us. First we had to beat Liverpool and now we have Aston Villa next."

He said: "I'm proud of them, but there is more to come. I enjoyed that one, but we move on now.

"I was delighted with the two youngsters, Gosling and (Jack) Rodwell, to come on in such an important cup tie and play as well as that.

"But it says, too, a lot about the other players. We have had so many injuries and we picked up more during the match, it meant we were looking around to see what we could change.

"So it was the young boys who had to come on and I did not have any worries putting the two lads on. They had the energy we needed, and it was not a worry for me to put them on.
